Why The Stilly Name?

You would think that a good strong name like Bryant could be trusted wouldn't you? But no! I know one, and it may come as a shock to you to find that the name derives, in his case, from, and I can hardly say it - France, as in Bree-Ont. Possibly a nasty cheese? You tell me. Of course Mr Bryant's heritage have taken a spanking from the English second only to the Scots, maybe the Spanish, and we'll call America a draw, so when he discovered I had a more tangile link to Scotland than most of the Irish football team have to Ireland he, to say the least, rejoiced. Talk to him, and he will tell you about how Clan McTadger waved their hairy bottom cheeks to the English soldiers and were off the battle field of Culloden and down Morag's Tavern six months before the battle. Of course he is a clever man - who else could take 'Blacklock', a link to Scotland, and, after a lot of beer and a nasty incident involving a bathroom door in a house we shared, turn it into BlackTadger. When I had the pleasure of getting married in June 1995 the head table came complete with two name tags - Hamish and Morag. Clan McTadger was reborn.>

In April 2002 due to a freak accident involving my namesake we were pleased to add another addition to the clan who we call Nessie.
